Only God Can Judge Me

Today, I want to address the common belief that only God can judge us, a notion not explicitly stated in the Bible or by Jesus. I find it crucial to dive into Matthew 7:1-5, where people often misinterpret the message, emphasizing the caution against hasty and hypocritical judgment. It’s important to note that the scripture doesn’t outright forbid judgment but encourages careful consideration. We, as believers, have the capacity to judge worldly matters and even angels, as suggested in 1 Corinthians 6:1-5.

Self-judgment is equally vital, as the Bible states that if we judge ourselves, we won’t be judged by the Lord. This counters the misconception that only God can judge us. I believe that misinterpretations of these scriptures can deceive people and hinder their willingness to be corrected. So, when confronted with the idea that “Only God can judge me,” I encourage introspection and questioning the source of such beliefs.
